Herd Health

 

Herd health has always been very important to us, and we were one of the first to join Hi-Health, the farmer led Scottish health scheme which is now known as HiHealth-Herdcare.

The herd has been accredited clear of BVD since 2004.

We have never seen a clinical case of Johnes Disease on the farm, and after 3 annual clear tests we attained Level 1 status in 2014.

IBR and Leptospirosis have never been an issue on the farm, and any check test that has been done over the years has always been negative. We don't vaccinate for IBR or Leptospirosis, but we are very conscious of Bio Security and our boundary's are all double fenced.
